Welcome to eloquensa! Currently masquerading as a newspaper hot off the press for want of a better idea, the story behind this edition of my world is a fairly simple one. In order to unfold it, one need only use the navigation above. Some articles will be viewer censored, and all commenting is only available once registered and logged in.
I'm Melissa; pretend journalist and currently real-life accountant wannabe. I used to be a kid in highschool, but I've since kicked the habit. At 18 years of age I'm just moving through life, enjoying my free-time and earning lots of money whilst still living with my parents. Continued on page 2...

· Name: Melissa |
I'm not very good at it, so I'm going to skip the usual rigmarole of the dark, stormy night where in some bumpkin town of New South Wales I was brought forth into this world by my adoring parents and then later grew up to be an angsty teenager who is both withdrawn and prone to procrastinating. It's just been told way too many times with so many slight variations.
What I will say is this: I've been around for 18 years now, and I've had my fair share of both good and bad experiences during that time. I spent my first few years thinking that my father was a reporter on television because my real father was in the armed forces and never at home for very long - and naturally my mother encouraged this behaviour because it was "cute." I had both a modest and relatively normal childhood living in suburbia with my two parents and older brother, which I still enjoy today (except the brother's moved out). There's not really much out of the norm to tell - I did the preschool, the primary school and the highschool thing. Though truthfully, I did actually drop out of highschool with but 5 months to go until I graduated. Why? I just couldn't do it - I couldn't jump through all the hoops that were expected of me. Since day one I have always been an overachiever in my areas of interest, and I personally believe that in getting an education students should be encouraged towards success in the subjects they do best in, and not have both their intelligence and their achievements dismissed, like I did, simply because they do not perform as well in other aspects. But that's just me.
To the surprise of many, I've never looked back or regretted my decision of taking an out. It was distressing me far too much to be worth what I would have gained out of it. Anyway, once you're out of the system and in the real world noone really cares about your past - if you're good at what you do, and you're happy with both life and yourself, then that's all that matters. Since dropping out I've gone on to find a great job that I enjoy, and I'm debt free because I'm not living as a poor, full-time university student, which is what I would have been doing. Eventually I hope to further my studies when I figure out what I want to do with my life, but in the meantime I'm happy to float on the current and start setting myself up financially with all the savings I'm making. I also want to travel - I love travelling.
But that's all there really is. Like a lot of people I do have things that I love and hate, as well as an awesome bunch of friends, and a guy - but if you wanted to know about those things you should have been reading my journal instead.
