I'm Melissa; pretend journalist and currently real-life accountant wannabe. I used to be a kid in highschool, but I've since kicked the habit. At 18 years of age I'm just moving through life, enjoying my free-time and earning lots of money whilst still living with my parents. Continued on page 2...
So I finally did it

“Leave me out with the waste, this is not what I do - it's the wrong kind of place to be cheating on you. It's the wrong time, she's pulling me through - it's a small crime, and I've got no excuse.. and is that alright? Is that alright with you? Damien Rice - 9 Crimes”
I finally got around to getting a new job. Well, in reality I quit my old job rather ubruptly at the end of October last year - then I took 3 months off (I was having heaps of holidays, so I figured it wasn’t a good idea to try to get a new job until the end of it), then in the middle of February I started working with a new company. New company, new managers, new job description. Awesome.
It’s completely different from the last job I was doing in the accounts department of a pathology lab (which has gone so far downhill I’m now ashamed to mention the name). In this new job, I’m now working in a sort of hybrid of a sales/technical support position for a computer software company in North Sydney, which is so much more exciting. I’m working as a trainee (getting a certificate through on-job training), which means that it’s a bit of a pay cut compared to the last job where I was working full time hours as a casual - mmm, casual loading - but there is plenty of room for advancement. I’m loving being a city-slicker with the collared shirts, too. :P
A few weekends ago I flew down to Melbourne for a LAN party. It was the most awesome fun; hanging out with people I’ve met online, doing a bit of gaming and a lot of party carry-on. One of our group actually flew over from New Zealand for the weekend, and seeing as he has a couple of young children he’s downloaded all of the classic Walt Disney movies that I used to watch as a kid - which of course I leeched from him. I’m so incredibly psyched about having all this Disney stuff to watch! Perhaps I never grew up?
