I’m going to the Easter Show tomorrow! I don’t really know why I’m excited this year - I think it’s just because I’ve been working full time, and any weekend that amounts to 4 days off work has to be simply awesome. My friend, Gemma, is going with us tomorrow and she’s sleeping over tonight; I plan to make a big deal out of choosing which showbags I want to buy and which performances I’m going to attempt to drag everyone around to see. I mean, I’ve known Easter was coming up for ages now but I actually forgot to do the Easter thing - like chocolate eggs and hot cross buns. I haven’t done any of that yet! My boss brought in some eggs and hot cross buns today and it was a very nice treat. I think that may be about the extent of my Easter celebration, though - unless you count going to an Easter Show to buy lots of junk in the name of Easter celebrations. I’m totally down with that. I’ll make sure to bring some pictures or something home with me.
I had a really interesting/weird day at work today. There was this doctor that decided it’d be a good idea to bring her baby in for a meeting she had with our liasons officers, and so when she went to go down to the lab (which is full of germs and gross smelling stuff) she decided it’d be best to leave the baby upstairs with us. Now, I don’t know how old the baby was, but he wasn’t anywhere near 2 years old yet, maybe not even 1 - but he was just given over to us strangers to look after while she went downstairs. First off he ended up with my boss, and when she came over carrying this baby I was like “Where on earth did you get a baby from?” - but then she had to go to a meeting, so I ended up having to hold him. I didn’t even know who this baby belonged to, all I was told was he’s a baby and he may do a bit of an up-chuck so have a towel over your shoulder. Oh my god. I don’t do babies, I’m 18 years old! Either way, it was an extremely awkward/interesting experience but in the end he was very good (I learned his name was Elliot), and he just wobbled around excitedly in my arms for a while, wore himself out and fell asleep on my shoulder. In the meantime I got absolutely no work done because I had to hold onto this baby, but that wasn’t such a bad thing in my opinion…
Happy Easter everybody!
