It’s all about acronyms
April 23, 2007 | Filed under: Daily Grind, Bitching

And I could be the one who would die to feel you breathe, I could break into a million pieces so just run as fast as you can for me. You mean everything to me.. Sevendust - Xmas Day

Now, anyone would think that with this kind of title, I’m going to go on to talk about how great acronym titles are, and how they’re so usability friendly and blah blah with the usability blah.

Definitely not! I’m just going to bitch about work again, really. It just annoys me so much that everyone’s all with the acronyms as though everyone of importance should know what they’re talking about already, and if you don’t - too bad, you’re not part of the “in” crowd. What are “KPI”s? Why must we talk about them all the time? What are “CapEx”s? Is this crap some sort of business lingo I haven’t picked up yet? I feel so young.

There’s been both a lot and not a lot happening recently. Sitting here, writing this now, it feels as though not a lot has happened recently because I’m exhausted from work today (mental strain >.< ) and I feel as though my life is a bore - but this is not so! In the past few months Kev has been searching for work in Sydney, because if you’re going to get anywhere career-wise you need to be working in a city, basically - and Nowra doesn’t cut it. So yeah, he finally got a job up here in the form of a traineeship with a rather profitable computery-selling-sort-of-business. I don’t know what they do, I just know he’s learning about computer bits and how to sell them to people. Which is awesome, in my humble opinion, because it means that he’s moved in with me. He now lives at the end of the corridor in my brother’s old room. Cool, huh? After he finishes his traineeship and gets a job (which they’ll give him if he does well), we’re planning to move out with Gemma some time next year. I’m buying household items already :D

We (Gemma and I) really want to get a kitten and call him Kitty Fantastico. </buffy reference>

  1. Haha, the acronyms bit reminds me of that phone commercial with the mother and daughter arguing over the daughter text messaging so much. The daughter keeps talking in acronyms like “IDK” for “I don’t know” and “TISNF” for “That is so not fair”.
