If you want to, I can save you. I can take you away from here.. So lonely inside, so busy out there. And all you wanted was somebody who cared. Michelle Branch - All You Wanted

Okay. I know. This has to absolutely be the most appalling lack of updates in the history of my site. No, I’m not dead, I’m just really, really busy and have been doing a lot of stuff. :P Which I hope I’ll explain in a legitimate amount of detail in the post following. I apologise to all my fans *waves to the.. “audience”*, and promise that I’ll at least attempt to keep this place more updated in the future.

Aalllright. So, the last time I updated properly was about last September/October holidays. What happened during that time? Well, the first weekend I went to the East Coast Nationals at WSID in Eastern Creek, that was awesome, I met Kev and Brooke in person for the first time, had a lot of fun. That Sunday night I went to a sleepover at my friend Gemma’s house, having been absolutely burnt to a crisp by the sun during the day. I couldn’t brush my hair without pain for a week :/… After that I spent time with both of those two at an almost constant rate throughout those two weeks, which was great.. and to cut a long story short, after knowing each other for ages and joking about getting together all that time, Kev and I actually became a couple. Shortly after which I had a falling out with Brooke (who is a guy, in case noone understood that before :/) - details I won’t go into - and haven’t really talked to him since.

In between visits to Kev’s house and Kev’s visits to my house, I thought about studying for my school finals, School Certificate (year 10 qualification for New South Wales) as well as my end of semester Greek exam for uni. I kind of… failed miserably - at the studying part - and relied on talking to smart people about what was going to be in the exam during the morning periods beforehand. That was for my school finals, anyway. I did fairly well in just about everything except for maths, though that was to be expected, due to my longstanding grudge against the subject. Then came the School Certificate. Now - this is supposed to be an ‘equaliser’ for the year 10 students of the state. Meaning that my results can be judged against the results of every other school in the state and be on an equal standing. I was really nervous before doing the first one, which I think was English (it’s been so long I can’t remember which subjects were on what days :P), but after being able to nearly fall asleep during the exam with my 40 minutes to spare afterwards, I stopped worrying.

I got my exam results a month or so later (after having not gone to school on a Tuesday or Wednesday since the School Certificate ended), and I was rather pleased. When it comes to grading, you’re given a “band” which you’re in - going from 1 to 6, 6 being the highest - as well as a number out of 100 for your marks. This is what I got:
English - Band 6, 92/100
Maths - Band 5, 88/100
Science - Band 6, 95/100
History - Band 6, 94/100
Geography - Band 6, 97/100

I needn’t have worried, ever. It’s probably not the best results, considering I got a Band 5 for Maths, but I was really happy. 2 off a Band 6 for Maths? That’s great, considering for the school section of the results I got a D and a percentage way below the passing mark.

Now, Greek uni exam - it all went well, except for the fact that the exam supervisors took my paper after 2 hours when I had a 3 hour exam, and I didn’t think to tell them to piss off because I thought it was my mistake. I didn’t actually say anything to anyone until I was talking to my Latin teacher nearly a week later, and she was really pissed off about it and called my professor immediately and told me to write a letter seeking special consideration to some high and mighty exam board. So I did that, and ended up with a Credit instead of a Pass. Still kinda sucks though :P.. I want me a High Distinction. Grar.

Exams all over I nearly stopped going to school altogether, and merely turned up every few days. Or maybe a day a week, or something meagre anyway. Then I turned up on the last Monday of school, 13th December, received my School Certificate and became a Year 11 student. That was a really boring assembly. As soon as it finished I had to go to the hairdresser though - it was our Year 10 formal that night…

Formal Hair
This is my hair for the formal.

… The formal turned out to be heaps of fun, even though I thought it’d be really tacky and dull.. It was one of the few moments in time that the entire grade mixed together and everyone was happy. lol, we also got to go in a Rolls, that was impressive. Everything finished at 11pm, then we went back to Deb’s house to get changed, and ended up being there until about 12am - then we had to drive out to Schoefields, which is about 30km outside of nowhere, and we got lost trying to find Cassandra’s house. So we didn’t get to the afterparty until about 1am, and could be considered outside the boundaries of ‘casually late’. Noone cared, though, and we happily continued wakefulness throughout the night and went home at 9am something. Ours was the ‘tame’ afterparty, without the masses of alcohol and drunken boys trying to chat you up :P.. I decided I didn’t need that, but apparently they had lots of Woodstock, so I’m sure they had fun too.

After the formal there was more going to Kev’s house and Kev coming to mine for another 2 weeks, then we had Christmas - which was really overrated and a dull day considering I was going to London and Italy in about 4 days - and I got ready to go overseas. I think I’m going to explain “the overseas adventure” in another post, though, considering this one is incredibly long as it is. I had an interesting time :P…
